Sweet and Salty with Ellen Karis

Apr 9, 2019

We got incredibly lucky to have on Actor, Playwright, Producer and Director Ronnie Marmo. Having seen Ronnie perform in the Off-Off Broadway show that he wrote,"I am Not a Comedian. . . I'm Lenny Bruce", we knew we needed to get him as a guest. We talked about his childhood, which started in Brooklyn then moved to New Jersey, how he fell in love with acting, studied hard, got casted in national tours and then eventually moved to Hollywood. In a LA, Ronnie started his own company "Theatre 68" and developed his own works including West of Brooklyn, among others. A writer from the TV soap opera "General Hospital" saw his work and wrote the character of Ronnie Dimestico, who he played for a few years. We talked at length about his brilliant piece on Lenny Bruce, directed by Joe Mantegna, which is raw, mesmerizing and a must see. For more on Ronnie go to: www.ronniemarmo.com
