Sweet and Salty with Ellen Karis

Apr 4, 2019

We were honored to have one of our most beloved New York City Greek Orthodox Clergy, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Father Chrysostomos Gilbert, Parish Priest of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on the Upper Westside. Father Chrysostomos, the son of a Greek Orthodox Priest, grew up in Salt Lake City and found his calling early on. Upon graduating from the seminary in Boston, then a Deacon, Father moved to New York City and worked for the Archdiocese and was eventually elevated to Priesthood in a shorter time than most and assigned to the Annunciation. We talked about his journey into Priesthood, what the job entails, the richness of our Orthodox religion including an explanation on "Greek Easter" and the very spiritual and fun time Father, myself and 40 other of our fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ had on our Pilgrimage to the Holy Land this past February. An affable man of the cloth, we felt extra bless having him on.
